Hello furries! These updates were a long time coming, and now that Covid-19 restrictions are easing, we thought it would be a good idea to release a few updates. The largest update is to the UI of the website, such as the forum, and functionality changes to the social UI across the entire site. If you find any bugs that we didn't catch, you can post in the forums or use the contact form to let us know. Furry Locator  It is known that this feature has been bugged out for the longest time, but no longer. When we moved over to Amazon S3 for larger storage and better data protection, it caused an issue with user images loading on the map. We finally applied the fix that we needed.Loading is a little slow as it loads the profiles of 600+ members that choose to list their location, please be patient. If you would like to be shown on the map, just edit your profile and add your location. We suggest that you do not use exact addresses, but if you use detect location, you can choose a nearby area as your location.  Marketplace The all new marketplace is here for all members to use completely free! Create simple and easy listings that you can share with other members, or link to from anywhere. We have several furry related categories to post under, feel free to check it out in the social bar anywhere on the site. Forum UI  The forums have...

The senseless acts of racism and violence that recently took the lives Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Dion Johnson, and George Floyd, and threatened Christian Cooper are abhorrent and wrong. We stand with Ahmaud, Breonna, George, Christian, Dion, their families, friends and communities, and call for an end to acts of racism, inequity, and social injustice.Black lives matter. Period. While racism can look very different around the world, one thing that does not look different is that racism of any kind will not be tolerated here at Arizona Furs. The admin team here stands with Black Lives Matter. Time and time again, furries have proven that we will take a stand, we will fight injustice, and we will expunge hate. Let's take a stand together and make a difference.- Arizona Furs Admin Team It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win.We must love each other and support each other. We have nothing to lose but our chains. Assata Shakur  How do I get involved? BLMPHXMetro helps spread resources and awareness of the Black Lives Matter movement. Black Lives Matter Phoenix Metro is an inclusive, abolitionist collective of community members on occupied Akimel O'odham and Pee Posh territory, also known as Phoenix, Arizona. They challenge police brutality and value all Black lives: queer and trans folks, disabled folks, undocumented folks, folks with records, women, and all Black lives along the gender spectrum. They center those who have been marginalized within Black liberation movements, and we rise in solidarity with all oppressed...

You should consider getting a GMRS license. The General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) is a licensed radio service that uses channels around 462 MHz and 467 MHz. The most common use of GMRS channels is for short-distance, two-way voice communications using hand-held radios, mobile radios and repeater systems. Using a repeater can allow you to talk to people 50+ miles away. Although a license is required to use this service, there is no test, making it a perfect way to enter the radio communication hobby. Additionally, a GMRS license not only gives you access to this service, but your entire family as well. The license costs $70 and lasts 10 years.Arizona has an amazing repeater network that covers the entire Phoenix Valley. The system is provided by the Arizona GMRS Repeater Club (AGRC), a non-profit organization. For less than $3/month you and your family will be able to access their repeaters, and communicate with other club members like me. Have your GMRS license and want to see if you are covered by the repeater? Every Tuesday AGRC allows non members to use the repeater for free. Just tune your radio to 462.550 RX and 467.550 TX with a PL tone of 141.3, and you can take it for a spin.Get StartedHere are links to getting your GMRS license, and to the AGRC to become a member. Hello! The developer of the software we use to run AZfurs.com has recently updated, giving us many new features and layout options. You may notice some of these changes right away in the community page. Most other pages are not affected. Here are some of the recent changes. Mobile Updates, Features & Filters, Discovery The Sidebar  First off, NO MORE CLUNKY SIDEBAR! I am happy to finally say that. We now have the new "Discovery" menu. Click on your profile picture and select an option under discovery to browse users, photos, videos, groups, pages and more.  More Gender Options  It's about time we caught up with the rest of the internet. If you identify as another gender, you no longer have to select "other", but that is still an option. We added a lot more choices, and are looking for suggestions to add more. Post in the suggestion forum if we are missing a gender that you or someone you know identifies as, and we will add it to the approval queue.  We will do our best to accommodate everyone.Choose what you see  Now you can filter the stream by post types. Want to only see photos? Or maybe forum posts. Well we have added the "Post Types" menu to the top of the stream. Check the boxes and only see what you want to see.  Backgrounds!Colorful backgrounds can now be used to highlight your posts! This is an experimental feature for now. If you have any problems posting, try turning off the...

What are paid events? Some events in our community cost the organizers a lot to run. These events are usually the larger ones, such as the BBQ and the Bowling meets. We are stepping in to help with these costs by creating a ticket system for these events. Any paid event is created by trusted organizers that have been doing this for a number of years, the price of the ticket will go to renting a venue, food, and other items needed. Any excess will go to paying for other services we run or to a charity. We will be sure to post an expense report shortly after every event so you know what happens to the money. MenuYou will see a new option under "Events" where you can find paid events. They will also be listed in the regular events section with a link to where you can register. There is an option to view your purchased tickets as well in case you lose track of the email sent to you. Event DetailOnce you have selected the event you'd like to attend, you will be able to buy tickets, see other people attending, save it to your calendar and more. At the event, there will be a registration table where event staff will be able to scan your ticket from the printed paper, or from your mobile device. ...
